Making an item a week project

Happy 2013!

Hello there, I'm Mayu (pronounced mar-you) and this is a journal of my days and handmade projects. I am an almost self-taught seamstress and enjoy making simple and comfortable clothes. I started Kaëlle Clothing in the early spring of 2010 and am making / remaking clothes for local customers.

A few more things about me...
I was born in 70's and now live in a beautiful old city, Kanazawa, Japan with my husband and Kangoo (our beloved car!) Mint and gray colors are always my favorites. I have a sweet tooth. I enjoy finding beautiful & "Cawaii" things in everyday life. One of my mottos is "live simply."

Opening my shop on Etsy has been one of my dreams, and I'm planning to get the project started in 2013. It will be a really big challenge for me but it's always so exciting and thrilling to start up a new project. As the year of 2013 has begun, I finally made up my mind to kick off the project from starting a journal in English. Since it took me a lot of time to write in foreign language, update will be on a weekly basis with a short sentence, but I hope this blog will be a small place to share with many creative people out there!

------------------------------------------

I made a list of 52 to-do things in 2013 as my new year resolution (not yet completed.) "Making an item a week" is one of 52.
Here is the first item for this week.

#1: A wool coat

beautiful wool cashmere fabric from Italy with wooden buttons.
I like to match up plaid or patterned fabric with plain one.
I custom-made this for a local customer.
Actually it took me a month to finish.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
Have a fabulous weekend!
